Tulum Jungle Gym is a one of a kind outdoor eco gym using natural materials that Fred Flintstone would have worked out on. Training with nature in nature, The concept was born from a dis-satisfaction with the fitness industry where gym goers are faced with staring at a brick wall counting down a clock until they've reached their calorie goal... very inspiring!It was created to put the fun back into fitness, training barefoot outdoors in the sun pushing logs, lifting rocks, throwing coconuts, hanging, jumping, climbing– moving the body in the variety of ways in the way it was designed.
Although our gym is 90% natural materials we do still have some of the more functional traditional gym equipment. Olympic and EZ bars with bumper plates, medicine balls, Kettle bells, TRX's, boxing bag & Bulgarian bags for example. It appeals to calisthenics, gymnastics, bodybuilders, weight lifters and anyone that is into fitness, it's a workout for the body, mind and soul.
The Jungle gym circuit class is scaled for a broad range of fitness levels so don't be put off that you won't be fit enough. It uses functional training movements along with the majority of the equipment we have at Tulum Jungle Gym. You will be benching logs, squatting with wooden barbells, jumping onto tree stumps, swinging from monkey bars, lifting rocks on a wooden pulley and cargo net... the list goes on.
We have a wide variety of unique, one of a kind and never seen before equipment designed by us and made locally by our carpenters. The sand is your gym floor while you train barefoot over looking the Caribbean Sea. Tan and train at the same time in our eco gym paradise.
Alastair has spent most of his work life in the British Military. He was trained as a Physical Training Instructor for the Royal Air Force. Serving 10 years in this role delivering training primarily to soldiers, pilots and engineers – during his military career he also completed Royal Maine Commando training attaining the coveted Green Beret – one of the most physically challenging military courses in the world.
After leaving the military since 2013 Alastair came to work in Tulum as a fitness instructor initially coming for just a couple of months. Each year though he spent more and more time in Tulum until he decided to start Tulum Jungle Gym and make Tulum his home.

Katie Davies is a UK based personal trainer and Kick boxing coach who has over a decade of experience within the health and fitness industry. She is also a qualified yoga instructor, Thai & Deep tissue masseuse and holds a number of sporting achievements across the globe that she has acquired through years of disciplined training and dedication. She is an Ironman Triathlete, holds a 1st Dan Black belt in Kick boxing, is an ex national acrobat as well as an endurance runner and swimmer.
Her love and passion for sport, health and fitness has been with her since the age of 4, she is focused on driving and motivating her clients to success using unique and fun approaches in her sessions
